On July 17, China Haisum held its 2023 mid-year work conference in Shanghai. At the conference, participants intensively studied Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, reviewed the work in the first half of the year, and discussed key tasks for the second half of the year, further unifying thinking, forging consensus, and gathering strengths for future progress. The conference was presided over by Chen Rongrong, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of China Haisum and attended by the leadership team of China Haisum, relevant personnel from the Enterprise Development Department of Poly Sinolight, department heads from the headquarters, as well as major responsible persons and financial directors from various operating units.

Chen Rongrong, on behalf of the operating team, delivered a report, titled Focusing on Strategy to Chart a New Course and Continuing to Forge Ahead Towards the Future, on the operational work in the first half of the year. He comprehensively summarized the production and operation work in the first half of the year, analyzed the main problems, and deployed key work for the second half of the year:

I. To optimize market layout;

II. To explore new operating models;

III. To improve operational quality;

IV. To promote innovation and effectiveness;

V. To intensify talent team building;

VI. To prevent and address risks;

VII. To strengthen the leadership of the Party.

Chen Rongrong emphasized that each company manager has two basic tasks: improving production efficiency and quality in the traditional sectors, and pursuing innovation, growth and new tracks in the emerging sectors. In the current situation, each operating unit should consolidate its technical strengths and produce the best products; accept competition and build a strong competitiveness; and conduct research and development, and seek digital transformation. In summary, it is necessary to enhance internal capabilities, embrace challenges, manage risks, seize opportunities, pool efforts to achieve success, and achieve annual business objectives in all aspects.

Zhao Guoang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Company, delivered a concluding speech entitled Firming Confidence in Development, Fulfilling Annual Targets, and Continuously Promoting High-Quality Development of the Company. He analyzed the macroeconomic situation at home and abroad, as well as the development trends, problems and causes of each subsidiary, and requested that the leaders of each operating entity have a clear understanding of the macro situation and the company's current situation, mobilize employees' enthusiasm, promote organizational reform, and increase efforts in exploiting the market, develop different operating strategies based on different economic trends, and actively address challenges.

Zhao Guoang pointed out that in the second half of the year, under the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, the "Two Establishments" and the "Two Upholds" should be full implemented and achieved, and the following five aspects of work should be highlighted:

I. To safeguard high-quality development with thematic education;

II. To accelerate digital transformation with capital support;

III. To boost intelligent manufacturing in all areas by starting with key points;

IV. To upgrade and re-empower the three "arrows" by deepening reform;

V. To provide diversified incentives through scientific and technological system reform.

Zhao Guoang emphasized the need to bear in mind the original aspiration of Haisum's development in the past seven decades, firm the confidence in development, inherit the corporate culture of "keep pushing the boundaries", expand the market in an organized way, tap into new areas and industries, and create more achievements. It is also important to deepen risk prevention and control, always safeguard the bottom line of high-quality development, focus on key areas, and ensure that the risk prevention and control system becomes more robust.

Zhao Guoang expects that each operating unit should strive for "profitable revenue and profits with cash flow" in terms of finance; seek for technological innovation and build their own moats in terms of technology; strengthen the integration of the Party work and the business in terms of management, and implement the requirements of "Eight-Dimension Lean Management" and "Scientific and Technological Reform Demonstration", with a focus on improving operation and management, in order to truly achieve high-quality development.

Zhao Guoang concluded the speech by quoting from General Secretary Xi Jinping's words to encourage participants: "We are all on the same boat. In times of high winds and rough waves, we must set our course accurately, master the pace, unite and cooperate, and ride the wind and waves steadily towards a better future."

At the meeting, Vice President Chen Zhiming delivered a report "Analysis of Production and Operation in the First Half of the Year", leaders of the Headquarters Financial Fund Management Center, Business Development Center, EIM Digital Innovation Center, and Technology R&D Center delivered thematic speeches on relevant management work, and General Manager Lin Wei of CEC shared his insights around the topic "Development and Positioning of the Lithium Battery New Materials Industry". Heads of the 11 operating units also reported on their work in the first half of the year and unveiled their plans for the second half.
