To thoroughly implement its strategic development requirement of "anchoring the future through scientific and technological innovation and development of new quality productive forces", China Haisum held its 2025 Science and Technology Special Work Conference in Shanghai on April 24. Lu Jun, Director of Poly Sinolight's Science & Technology Management and Industrial Promotion Center, along with members of China Haisum's leading group and members of the Science and Technology Committee, attended the conference. The conference was chaired by Liu Wei, Vice President and Technical Director of China Haisum.

At the conference, Liu Wei delivered a keynote speech titled Marching Toward the New - Illuminating the Path to High-Quality Development with the Light of Scientific and Technological Innovation, and the head of the Technology R&D Center summarized the Company's scientific and technological work in 2024 and proposed ideas for future work.

All business units engaged in extensive discussions and exchanges on topics such as ideas and goals for scientific and technological innovation development, construction of R&D management systems, key R&D directions, target market fields, product application scenarios, and methods and approaches for achievement transformation, and shared exemplary scientific research cases.

Members of China Haisum's Science and Technology Committee provided insights and suggestions from aspects like the standard system for engineering construction in the light industry sector, industries of papermaking and new energy materials, green and environmental protection, development of artificial intelligence, and scientific and technological innovation.

During the conference, the CEC pre-released the "CEC Smart Water - Agent", and the headquarters' EIM Digital Innovation Center awarded appointment letters to the first group of experts joining the "Chunqiu Xingtan".

Liu Wei concluded the conference with a summary speech, emphasizing the following points:

I. Strengthen the confidence and resolve in scientific and technological innovation: Companies have made a good start in scientific and technological innovation, demonstrating China Haisum's potential in this field. All employees must remain confident and continue to drive efforts forward.

II. Recognize the situation and seize the opportunities in scientific and technological innovation strategically: It is essential to clarify objectives, enhance core process capabilities and control capabilities, strengthen industry-university-research cooperation, integrate resources, and accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.

III. Enhance the innovation system construction and create an innovation-friendly ecosystem ecosystem: Scientific research efforts shall be made in an organized manner, and a robust culture of technological R&D shall be cultivated.

IV. Reinforce talent pool building and consolidate the foundation of talents for scientific and technological innovation: The talent introduction and cultivation shall be improved to enhance the professional competence and innovation capabilities of scientific and technical personnel.

Lu Jun conveyed the deployment and requirements of the SASAC and the Poly Group regarding scientific and technological innovation, as well as the requirements and arrangements for the preparation of the "15th Five-Year Plan" for Scientific and Technological Innovation. He acknowledged China Haisum's achievements in scientific and technological innovation and expressed the following expectations for its future efforts in this area: I. Focus on national strategy, clarify development directions, prioritize cutting-edge fields, and identify key entry points; II. Improve the science and technology system, strengthen organized scientific research, and further refine the organizational structure and management system; III. Focus on open innovation, and expand industry-university-research cooperation to facilitate the transformation and application of scientific and technological achievements; IV. Accelerate digital and intelligent transformation and upgrade innovation methods through iterative improvements; V. Consolidate the support foundations and foster an innovation-friendly ecosystem by emphasizing talent development and improving incentive mechanisms.

More than 50 participants, including heads of relevant departments at the headquarters, principal leaders of business units, and managers of science and technology divisions at various levels, attended the conference.
